Tracie attended her usual chemotherapy this morning, little did she know another surprise was to follow and an award has been renamed in her honour, a legacy that will live on long after she leaves us. The “Tracie Mills Inspirational Fundraiser of the Year” award.

Asking Tracie for comment she said “Thank goodness for fake tan & bright lipstick .. jokes aside, I am truly honoured and humbled to receive this recognition. However, this is team work, without my wife, good friends, Nickie and the Amazing ‘Ardens Angels’ behind me, I would not of achieved anything & never forgetting the work of the fabulous medical oncology team I am blessed to have and the wonderful nurses at The Maple Unit & Arden Centre. I will not give up and I will keep fighting for both me & Enhertu. Together, all of us CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.”

Jo O’ Sullivan – Charity Director commented…

“After her chemotherapy treatment this morning on the Maple Unit, UHCW CEO Prof. Andy Hardy, along with UHCW Chief Nurse and UHCW Charity Trustee Tracey Brigstock, had the pleasure of presenting our UHCW Charity Inspirational Fundraiser Award to the one and only Tracie Mills. Although not wanting any fuss, Tracie gracefully accepted this award, which she won at our OSCAs (Outstanding Service and Care Awards) last September, but was unable to attend the event.”

In spite of all that cancer has thrown at Tracie over the last 11 years, Tracie remains a positive force for good and inspires her army of ‘Arden Angels’ to fundraise to make things better for her fellow patients, raising over £128,000 to date. Going forward, this UHCW Charity award will be named the “Tracie Mills Inspirational Fundraiser Award” in honour of the amazing Tracie, who will present the award at this year’s OSCAs in October 2024.
