In July 24, multiple fundraising teams of UHCW staff and the local community took on the Inflatable Obstacle Course at the University of Warwick. With teams from NCOT, Oak Ward, Cardiology, Early Pregnancy Unit, Palliative Care and the Maple Unit, everyone had a blast whilst raising money for their chosen departments.
The Oak Ward at Rugby St Cross Hospital had an incredible 18 strong team take on the course, raising funds to improve day room facilities for elderly patients recovering from injury or surgery.
The Neonatal Outreach team were fundraising for their Neonatal Community Outreach Service, supporting families taking their babies home with nasogastric feeding tubes, oxygen, or home phototherapy, with the help of experienced nurses.
Collectively, the total funds raised by all of those who took part currently stands at £10,800!
Seven year old Ayda and her dad Mark took on the course and raised a brilliant £993.67 for our Palliative Care Team. The pair have already signed up for next year and some of our palliative care nurses have pledged to join them! Well done Mark and Ayda! An extra shout out to John Carey and everyone at The Millpool Pub for supporting their manager Mark.
