Thanks to YOUR donations a new 55 inch touchscreen monitor has been installed on Ward 3, giving staff access to the Wardview system.
Keen to support the development and improvement of patient flow Ward Manager Joy Radtschenko approached UHCW Charity to seek funding for the touchscreen monitor. After Chief Executive Professor Andy Hardy was impressed by a demonstration of the innovative piece of equipment, it was quickly approved and is now up and running on Ward 3.
Previously, staff would have to wait for rounds to be completed until they could see their patient’s updated records – delaying vital treatment, medications or even discharge. Now Doctors update patient records on their rounds using a portable computer and these updates are then immediately available on Wardview; displayed on the new touchscreen, for staff to action, resulting in quicker treatment or discharge for patients.
“The whole team are very grateful to Professor Andy Hardy, the IT Team and UHCW Charity for seeing our potential to use the new touchscreen to benefit patient flow and care. The touchscreen has enabled all members of the team to have a greater input into Wardview, allowing us to view the patients journey, ensuring any delays in care are identified and eliminated” – Joy Radtschenko, Ward Manager
