The British Transplant Games went off with a bang this year, with Coventry hosting the event. UHCW Charity were proud to sponsor the Donor Run held in the War Memorial Park, as well as supporting the UHCW/Warwickshire Transplantees’ Team.
With distances of 2.5km or 5km, the Donor Run raises awareness of the NHS Organ Donor Register and the benefits of Organ Transplantation, whilst paying tribute to the donors who have given the gift of life. Our chair, Paula Deas, took on the run with Suky Dhindsa, Samantha Digger, Indi Kaur, Debbie Niblett and Anthony Dawson supported by Councillor Catherine Miks, raising a total of £900.
The Charity Team and UHCW Staff volunteers were also there to cheer on the competitors and hand out the medals at the end, whilst Penguino lead the warm-up beforehand….sort of!
