Over £1700 was raised at the UHCW Charity takeover of Coventry City’s match against Blackburn Rovers!

Penguino and the charity team can’t thank the Sky Blue’s enough for helping us reach this amazing total, all to go towards helping make things better for staff, patients and their families at your local hospitals.

Mark Hornby, Head of Marketing and Communications for Coventry FC said

“We were delighted to welcome University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire Charity to our game against Blackburn Rovers. The charity does fantastic work to help patients, staff and visitors in our local hospitals, and we’re very pleased to continue our long-standing support for them. A brilliant total of money was raised on the day by supporters and we would like to thank everyone who donated.”

Penguino was supported by a mighty team of volunteers, a mixture of Hospital staff from Theatres to Acute Medicine and local supporters such as Coventry Building Society.

Daniel Peach, Group Director of Operations (Emergency Medicine), rallied together parents and players of the Coundon Court U9 Boys football team to help out – “The parents and players had a fantastic day bucket collecting for UHCW Charity. The weather was perfect and all the fans were eager to show their support. The match was great and for some of our players it was their first time watching a game at the stadium!”

Penguino isn’t letting his new fame go to his head and is excited to work together with CCFC again in the future!
