After an 18 month break due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Arden Angels have finally been able to return to fundraising! The ladies were back raising vital funds for UHCW Cancer Services with The Rugby Treasure Hunt, which took place on Saturday 18th September.

The event, which started at the William Webb Ellis pub, is held annually and takes place across the centre of Rugby. Teams of up to 4 people solved clues, answered quiz questions and worked out map coordinates in order to find the locations they needed to visit to complete the Treasure Hunt! The teams then gathered back at the William Webb Ellis to find out who the winners were.

UHCW Charity Director, Jo O’Sullivan said “Tracie Mills and her team of Arden Angels are an inspiration. To see them back in action after this difficult 18 months gives us all hope for the future. I’d like to thank them all for their amazing enthusiasm and support, which makes such a difference to our cancer patients across the region”

A fantastic day was had by all and the event raised an amazing £2005.46 for the Arden Angels, with all funds raised going to the Maple Unit at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby – a brand new Oncology and Haematology Unit which enables patients in Rugby to access the care they need closer to home.

And the Angels aren’t stopping there! The ladies are busy planning future fundraising events with the aim of reaching their target of £100,000. Their popular monthly bingo nights will soon be making a return, with plans being made for Sky Dives and even Wing Walking!

Our fundraisers make a huge difference to our staff, patients and their families. You can too. Find out more at uhcw.org or support the Arden Angels by donating to their fundraising page here.
